
Ranchi, March 20 The Jharkhand CID has arrested three individuals from Hazaribag for allegedly defrauding a man of Rs 19.85 lakh by posing as providers of an LPG connection, officials said on Friday.
The arrests were made following a complaint lodged at the CID's cybercrime police station in November last year, they said.
"They sent a fake link via social media to the complainant, claiming to provide an LPG connection, and committed cyber fraud by siphoning off a total of Rs 19.85 lakh from his bank account," the CID said in a statement.
During the investigation, the three accused were apprehended with the assistance of the Hazaribag Police, it said.
The police have recovered a mobile phone and a SIM card allegedly used in the crime, the officials said.
