Health Department Signs MoU to Strengthen Nagaland's Health System.webp

February 17, Kohima: The Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland, and the George Institute for Global Health, India, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, yesterday.

The partnership will focus on the Promoting Community Action for Health (PATANG) project, which aims to build upon Nagaland's community-led health reforms.

Dr. Mereninla Senlem, Principal Director of the Health & Family Welfare department, Nagaland, said that the signing of the MOU marks the beginning of a new chapter in a collective journey towards strengthening the health system and improving population health outcomes in Nagaland.

She stated that it is not merely a formal agreement, but a commitment to cooperate, develop, innovate, and share responsibility.

Dr. Pallab Maulik, Director of the George Institute for Global Health India, informed that the Institute is a research organization and looks forward to working with the Nagaland government, not only in research but also in capacity building.
