
Union Health Secretary Punya Salila Srivastava visited the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Mangalagiri, in Andhra Pradesh today to review the ongoing activities during the Swachhata Pakhwada (Cleanliness Campaign). Addressing the gathering, the Union Health Secretary stated that the Swachhata Pakhwada is being implemented in line with the vision of "Clean India," emphasizing cleanliness as a fundamental pillar of national development. She added that the initiative focuses on strengthening the preventive and promotive aspects of healthcare. She highlighted that cleanliness and sanitation are crucial enablers of preventive healthcare, as they significantly contribute to reducing the burden of disease and improving public health outcomes. The Secretary also commended AIIMS Mangalagiri for its proactive role in providing inclusive, accessible, and quality healthcare services, particularly in the field of super-specialty care. The Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 is being organized by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and will be observed from April 1st to 15th across all its hospitals and institutes.
