Heart Transplant Success Highlights Organ Donation Efforts.webp

February 22, New Delhi: The patient, Aalin Sherin Abraham, whose name was mentioned by the Prime Minister in today’s Mann Ki Baat, underwent surgery performed by Dr. Vijay Grover.

Dr. Grover, Professor and Head of Cardio Surgery at RML Hospital, stated that this was the first heart transplant surgery, and that two more were subsequently performed. He emphasized the importance of life, family happiness, and the significance of offering condolences, noting that such efforts benefit many patients and strengthen people's ability to contribute to the nation's development if they remain healthy. He concluded with "Jai Bharat! Bharat Mata Ki Jai!"

In the 131st episode of Mann Ki Baat, the Prime Minister delivered an emotional message on organ donation, noting that awareness about the cause is steadily increasing across the country and sharing inspiring examples.

A 10-month-old baby from Kerala, Aalin Sherin Abraham, gave new life to many people despite her short life. She passed away at just ten months old, but her parents' decision to donate her organs made her India's youngest organ donor. The Prime Minister described her parents' decision as an inspiration for society.
