Jaipur, March 12 The Director General of Police of Rajasthan, Rajiv Kumar Sharma, chaired a review meeting of the state's Cyber Crime Branch on Thursday, directing officials to strengthen communication mechanisms to provide swift relief to victims.

The discussions focused on preventing cyber crimes, ensuring rapid action, and providing timely assistance to affected individuals. Sharma stated that the existing infrastructure should operate more effectively, following the model of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C).

"The DGP asked officials to prepare proposals for necessary equipment and manpower. He also instructed them to establish guidelines for Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and conduct monthly reviews," according to an official release.

Reviewing the awareness initiatives conducted last year, Sharma called for better use of technology to take strict action against cyber offenders. He instructed that bi-monthly campaigns be run to enhance public awareness about cyber threats.

Sharma directed officials to strengthen the cyber crime helpline, 1930, by increasing the number of lines at the Police Headquarters from 11 to 17 to provide immediate support to victims.

DG (Law and Order) Sanjay Agrawal, ADG V K Singh, DIGs Kunwar Rashtradeep and Vikas Sharma, and other senior officials attended the meeting.
