
Chandigarh, February 22 An Army personnel was among six arrested as the Punjab police uncovered a well-organized heroin trafficking network on Sunday.
The arrested individuals are involved in multiple drug trafficking cases, said Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav.
"In a major breakthrough, the Faridkot Police, after a 2-month-long surveillance operation, have busted a well-organized heroin trafficking network, apprehended 6 individuals, including 1 Army personnel and 1 former police officer, and recovered 4.8 kg of heroin, 1 weapon, and a Thar and XUV vehicle," Yadav said in a post on X.
The DGP said that an FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway to establish the supply chain.
