
In Jammu and Kashmir, approximately 2 kg of heroin, worth approximately ₹12 crore, was recovered near the International Border (IB) in Jammu today. According to a report by Akashvani Jammu correspondent, the recovery was made by the Jammu Police and the 101st Battalion of the Border Security Force (BSF) from agricultural land in Bahadurpura village in the Bishnah area late Wednesday night. Acting on information about a suspicious drone, a search operation was launched, resulting in the recovery of a bag attached with a rope and hook containing small packets of heroin. The police described the recovery as a significant achievement in the fight against drug trafficking, noting that the area is only a few kilometers from the International Border. The recovered packets contain approximately 2 kg of heroin, valued at approximately ₹12 crore in the international market. A case has been registered at the Bishnah Police Station under relevant sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, and further investigation is underway to trace the supply chain. The police have appealed to citizens to come forward with any information about illegal drug activities in their areas, particularly those living near the International Border.
