Jaipur, February 24 CPI(M) leader and former MLA from Sangaria, Hetram Beniwal, passed away at a private hospital in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan.

Beniwal, who was 92 years old, died on Monday night, according to party leaders.

He was a prominent figure in the farmers' and labourers' movements in Rajasthan. He was a member of the ninth Rajasthan Legislative Assembly.

Assembly Speaker Vasudev Devnani, former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, and leaders from CPI(M) and other parties expressed their condolences.

Devnani said that his death was a great loss.

In a message, Gehlot said that Beniwal had dedicated his life to the struggle for the rights of farmers, labourers, and the common people.

Gehlot added that Beniwal's simple and dedicated personality would continue to inspire everyone.
