Hamirpur (HP), April 11 BJP activists, mostly women, held demonstrations in the Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh on Saturday against the "anti-people policies" of the state government.
MLA Ashish Sharma led the demonstrations in Hamirpur, MLA Inder Dutt Lakhanpal led them in Bijheri, and former MLA Rajendra Rana led them in Sujanpur. Carrying flags and banners, BJP workers raised anti-government slogans.
While addressing the workers, Ashish Sharma alleged that the chief minister's earlier announcements have not yet been implemented in Hamirpur. He further alleged that the present Congress government has taken the state three decades back in three years.
BJP leaders said the protests were against the Congress government's "anti-people policies". They accused the government of stalling development in the state, alleging that inflation and unemployment have risen, and the government was working by taking loans.
