Himachal CM Addresses BJP Division and Economic Concerns

Himachal CM Addresses BJP Division and Economic Concerns.webp

Shimla, April 8 Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu said on Wednesday that the BJP's state unit, which is plagued by factionalism, is fighting for its existence in the state.

Launching a scathing attack on the BJP in Shimla, Sukhu said that the BJP, currently divided into five factions, is fighting a battle for its very existence in the state.

Only the BJP's factions know which group will ultimately survive, he told mediapersons.

When asked about the "economic crisis" in the state, he said that there is no such situation and that certain measures have been taken by the government to strengthen the state's economy and make the state self-reliant.

However, the BJP is actively working to impede the government's progress by attempting to cut off its financial resources, he alleged and added that the revenue deficit grant, which has been discontinued for Himachal by the Centre, is a fundamental right of the people of the state.

Sukhu said that there would be a complete ban on service extensions and re-appointments, and henceforth, no employee or officer will be granted a service extension or re-appointment.

The government will consider such requests only in exceptional circumstances and on exemplary performance, the chief minister said.
