Shimla, April 3 A major hotel worth Rs 180 crore will be developed in the Kangra district under an Asian Development Bank project, R S Bali, Chairman of the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, said on Friday.

Addressing a press conference here, Bali said the decision was taken during the meeting of the corporation's board of directors.

He said, "This hotel will feature the state's first musical fountain and will be constructed as a five-star property at the foothills of the scenic Dhauladhar range. The tender for this project, which is the largest in the state, will be finalised on April 6."

"In Shimla, Rs 45 crore will be spent on the renovation of the corporation's Hotel Holiday Home, for which approval has been received from the central government," he added.

He also said that renovation work is underway for three hotels in Manali. "Additionally, about Rs 20 crore will be spent on Hotel Hamir, and Rs 35 crore on the Jwalaji in Jwalamukhi," Bali said.

A decision has also been made to establish a 24-hour call centre of the corporation, he added.
