
A two-day volleyball tournament, organized by the Central Reserve Police Force under its Civic Action Programme 2025-26, concluded successfully at the 121 Battalion headquarters in Hiranagar.
The two-day tournament was presided over by Commandant Arvind Singh. A total of eight teams from different areas of Kathua district and Hiranagar participated, including Bhaiya, Upper Mela, Lower Mela, Gura Mundian, Hiranagar Morh, Samadia Hiranagar, Nau Chak (Talla), and Baba Dera.
After a series of competitive matches, the Lower Mela team emerged as the winner, while the Upper Mela team secured the runner-up position.
The closing ceremony was attended by Dr. Sudhakar Rai (CMO 121 Battalion), Second-in-Command Sandeep Kumar Sharma, Deputy Commandant and District Volleyball President Kamal Sharma, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Commandant Arvind Singh praised the players for their discipline and sportsmanship. He said such events not only encourage youth participation in sports but also strengthen coordination between security forces and the local community, fostering a positive environment in the region.
The winners and runners-up were presented with trophies, medals, volleyballs, and other prizes during the ceremony.
