Concerns have been raised regarding the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in several villages in the West Jaintia Hills region. Papiah, a leader from the Hynniewtrep Integrated Territorial Organization – HITO, has written to the Executive Engineer of the Public Health Engineering Rural Water Supply Division in Jowai, requesting a joint inspection of the projects. He has also filed a Right to Information (RTI) request seeking details of project reports and the status of work in several villages to ensure transparency in the rural drinking water program.
