
Ranchi, April 2 – Goa, Bengal, Chandigarh, and Uttarakhand won their respective matches on the second day of the Sub Junior Women's National Hockey Championship here on Thursday.
Goa defeated Telangana 6-3 in a Division C Pool A match, Bengal defeated Dadra and Nagar Haveli & Daman and Diu 1-0 in a Division B Pool A game, while Chandigarh defeated Gujarat 12-1 in a Division B Pool B match.
Uttarakhand defeated Karnataka 6-1 in another Division B Pool B match.
Goa's Dellina Mendes (40th, 41st) and Bertila Kerketta (48th, 52nd) each scored two goals, while Seema Tirkey (3rd) and Vidya Kumari (16th) also contributed with goals.
Anandi Mahanand (30th, 36th) and Navyashri Akula (15th) scored for Telangana.
For Bengal, captain Puja Kumari Shaw (21st) scored the winning goal in the second quarter.
Chandigarh's captain Kafi (38th, 46th, 55th, 60th), Annu (9th, 30th), Aanchal (12th, 14th), Nancy Kashyap (13th, 18th), Bhawana (10th), and Yasmin Sharma (20th) scored for Chandigarh. Skipper Niyati Parmar (23rd) scored the lone goal for Gujarat.
Uttarakhand saw Kareena (10th, 12th, 17th) score an early hat-trick for her side, while captain Minakshi (7th), Devyani Joshi (53rd) and Diya (60th) also contributed with goals. Preeti Neelaraddi (31st) was the only scorer for Karnataka.
