Indian Railways has made elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth, safe, and comfortable travel for passengers during the upcoming Holi festival. To manage the anticipated increase in passenger traffic, Northern Railway has decided to operate 64 Holi Special train trips across the country from stations including Old Delhi, New Delhi, and Anand Vihar Terminal.
Northern Railway informed that over three lakh passengers were sent to their native places from the Delhi area yesterday by 20 special trains for the Holi festival. It added that 44 more special trains have been deployed to manage the rush today and tomorrow.
To manage crowds, passenger holding areas, or pandals, have been set up at these stations to regulate waiting passengers and minimize congestion on platforms. The Railways has also established "May I Help You" booths at key stations, with RPF personnel and commercial staff deployed to assist and guide passengers.
