Hormuz Strait: Iran Threatens West Asian Infrastructure.webp

March 22, New Delhi: In a social media post on Sunday, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf stated that critical infrastructure and energy facilities in West Asia could be "irreversibly damaged" if Iranian power plants are targeted.

This comes as tensions around the Strait of Hormuz have escalated sharply after Iran warned that it would target key U.S.-linked infrastructure across West Asia, including energy, IT, and desalination assets in the region, if Donald Trump follows through on his threat to destroy Iranian power plants.

Earlier, President Trump issued a 48-hour ultimatum, demanding that Tehran reopen the vital corridor, which carries roughly one-fifth of global oil and gas supplies.
