Chennai, February 19 – Director Vignesh Karthick, who received a brand new Scorpio car from the producers of his hit film 'Hotspot 2 Much', has now issued a statement thanking them and disclosing that his recently released film earned six times more than his previous film, 'Hotspot 1', in theaters.
Vignesh Karthick shared the statement on his social media accounts. He explained, "A hit is different for every film. A film with a budget of 300 crore, earning 350 crore, is considered a hit. Conversely, a film with a budget of 2 crore, earning 10 crore, is considered a blockbuster."
He continued, "While 'Hotspot 2 Much' may not be a blockbuster, it has already earned six times more than 'Hotspot 1' in theaters and has satisfied my producers. Therefore, it will always be a film very close to my heart."
Expressing gratitude to his producers, Aneel Reddy, Suresh Kumar, and Robbie, for gifting him a car, the director wrote, "I am grateful to my producers, Aneel Reddy, Suresh Kumar, and Robbie, for this wonderful gesture and for gifting me a car, which was once a dream for me. Thank you all for being with me throughout this journey and for your support. For those who missed the theatrical release, 'Hotspot 2 Much' is now available on Prime Video and Aha, starting February 20th."
The director also confirmed that there would be a third installment in the franchise, but he would first be directing another film before that.
"See you soon with Hotspot 3, but before that... (My next full-length feature film announcement coming soon) I can't wait!!!"
For those unfamiliar, Aneel K Reddy, Suresh, and Robbie, the producers of 'Hotspot 2 Much', were seen jointly presenting the car key to director Vignesh Karthick in a video that has gone viral on social media. The producers stated that the film 'Hotspot 2 Much' had earned them a profit that was several times their initial investment.
