
A fire broke out at HMT Srinagar on Sunday, damaging a house and a crockery shop before being brought under control, officials said.
Feb 23, Srinagar: A fire broke out at HMT in Srinagar and was brought under control after firefighting teams responded swiftly, officials said.
The State Fire Control Room in Batamaloo received a distress call, following which fire tenders from Fire Stations Mujgund, JVC, and Safa Kadal were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found a crockery shop and an adjoining single-story residential house engulfed in flames. Firefighting operations were immediately launched to contain the blaze.
In the incident, one single-story residential house and one crockery shop were completely destroyed.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Alok Kumar, ADGP, Fire and Emergency Services, with on-the-ground guidance from Deputy Director, Fire and Emergency Command, Srinagar, Dr. Mir Aqib Hussain, and Mobilizing Officer Aijaz Ahmad Shah.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. No loss of life or injuries were reported.
