House Committee Gets Three Months to Assess JJM Progress

House Committee Gets Three Months to Assess JJM Progress.webp

The Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly today granted a two-month extension to the House Committee on the Jal Jeevan Mission to submit its report. An Akashvani Jammu correspondent reports that the motion was passed and the extension was granted through a voice vote. The Chairman of the House Committee, Justice Hasnain Masoodi, moved a motion that reads, "that this house do extend the tenure of the House Committee on Jal Jeevan Mission for a further period of three (3) months to enable it to complete its assigned task and submit a report." The House noted that the Committee required time to review the work carried out under the JJM across Jammu and Kashmir and granted a three-month extension to submit the report. The Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Abdul Rahim Rather, said that the House Committee had completed the major part of the work; however, it requires more time to submit the report as there are 3200 WSSs to be examined.
