
Hyderabad, March 24 Opposition BRS legislators held a protest here on Tuesday over the alleged shortage of LPG cylinders in the state, even as the government maintained that the supply was stable.
BRS MLAs, MLCs, and the party's Working President K T Rama Rao assembled at the Telangana Martyrs Memorial in front of the state assembly and staged the protest, holding placards shaped like gas cylinders and expressing concern over the "rising" prices.
Subsequently, the BRS leaders took out a rally from the Gun Park to the Assembly, raising slogans.
The Telangana government on Tuesday said that fuel supply is stable in the state and assured that there is no shortage of petrol, diesel and LPG.
Refineries are operational, an official communication said, adding that daily distribution continues to all districts.
Assuring that the government is committed to ensuring a continuous and robust supply for all citizens, it advised people to avoid panic buying.
It further said to trust only official information and contact the Civil Supplies helpline no. 1967.
