
Hyderabad, March 17 Two men were allegedly robbed of approximately 1 crore rupees by unidentified individuals on motorbikes after throwing chili powder into their eyes here, police said.
The incident occurred in the Kukatpally police station limits on Monday night, and three of the five to six suspects involved in the robbery were apprehended at the airport, a senior police official said. Some of the stolen money was recovered, the official added.
According to police, approximately five to six individuals on three motorbikes threw chili powder into the eyes of the victims, who were riding a two-wheeler, causing them to fall. Subsequently, the accused absconded with the money.
The victims informed the police, who launched an investigation and apprehended three suspects. Efforts were underway to apprehend the remaining absconding individuals.
Police said the money is suspected to be linked to 'hawala' transactions. However, further investigation is ongoing.
