Hyderabad, February 19 Two state government officials were apprehended by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) here on Thursday when they allegedly accepted a bribe of Rs 70,000.
A Superintendent working in the office of the Commissioner and Director of School Education was caught by the ACB when he demanded and accepted the bribe amount from a complainant through a senior assistant working in the office of the District Education Officer (DEO), Rangareddy, in exchange for an official favour, an ACB release said.
The official favour was "to process the complainant's CBSE NOC certificate application for the academic year 2026-27 and forward the file to higher authorities," it said.
The bribe amount was recovered from the accused. Thus, the accused officials "improperly and dishonestly" performed their duties to gain an undue advantage, the ACB said. The case is under investigation.
