Hyderabad, March 19 A 20-year-old woman is alleged to have died by suicide here, overcome by grief over the death of her pet cat, police said on Thursday.
The woman, a Bachelor of Science (BSc) student, consumed a poisonous substance at her home approximately 30 minutes after the cat died on Wednesday morning.
The woman's parents rushed her to a hospital, but she died while receiving treatment.
The parents informed police that their daughter took this extreme step due to her distress over the death of her pet, although further investigation is underway.
