The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has directed the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) to withhold the publication of Television Rating Points (TRPs) for News TV channels for an additional four weeks. This decision has been taken to curb the display of unwarranted sensationalism and speculative content by some news channels amid the West Asia conflict. The Ministry stated that such coverage could potentially create panic among the general public.
