Feb 18, New Delhi: President Droupadi Murmu, as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, reviewed the International Fleet Review (IFR) 2026 in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

A total of 85 ships, including 19 foreign warships, participated in the fleet review, reflecting the scale and diversity of maritime participation. The Indian fleet included 60 ships of the Indian Navy, four Indian Coast Guard vessels, and one ship each from the Shipping Corporation of India and the National Institute of Ocean Technology.

In her address, President Murmu highlighted India’s growing maritime stature under the theme "United Through Oceans." She emphasized the vision of Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions (MAHASAGAR) and reaffirmed India's commitment to being a "Preferred Security Partner" in the Indo-Pacific.

The President also highlighted India's emergence as a "Builder's Navy," praising the indigenous aircraft carrier INS Vikrant and other homegrown warships as symbols of technological prowess and Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

She underlined that the participation of numerous friendly nations reflects India's dedication to the SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) policy, which promotes a stable, rules-based, and inclusive maritime order.
