
Chennai, February 26 The IJK, led by educationist T R Paarivendhar, initiated talks with the AIADMK on Thursday regarding seat allocation.
The Indiya Jananayaka Katchi, which is the first of the NDA allies to begin seat-sharing negotiations, announced that the party has identified seven constituencies to contest in the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
IJK founder Paarivendhar and national president Ravi Pachamuthu met with AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami at his Greenways residence here and had a brief discussion.
Later, speaking to reporters, they said that the IJK had requested seven seats and submitted the list to Palaniswami. They added that Palaniswami had agreed to continue the discussion, involving the BJP.
"We submitted our list of constituencies. There will be further discussions. We want the DMK to be removed," said Paarivendhar, who founded the party in 2010, when asked to reveal the names of the constituencies his party proposed to contest.
