Illegal Firecracker Operations Targeted in Rajasthan.webp

Jaipur, February 17 Joint teams from the police and revenue department uncovered two illegal firecracker manufacturing units and a warehouse during a search operation in the town of Bhiwadi, in the Khairthal-Tijara district of Rajasthan, on Tuesday, officials said.

This action came a day after an explosion and fire at an unauthorized unit in the town, which resulted in the deaths of seven workers.

The search teams seized a large quantity of firecrackers, explosive materials, and machinery from two separate locations. A warehouse stocked with finished crackers was also sealed, officials said.

Police suspect that the manufactured goods were intended for distribution across markets in Rajasthan, Haryana, and the Delhi-NCR region.

Meanwhile, police have detained Hemant Sharma for questioning in connection with the incident. Sharma has been named in the First Information Report (FIR) filed after Monday's fatal blast.

The fire at the illegal factory on Monday evening left seven dead and two others with serious injuries.
