
New Delhi, April 1 The Delhi Police have arrested a 61-year-old man and busted an illegal LPG refilling racket in the southwest Delhi area of Dabri, seizing 17 cylinders, officials said on Wednesday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team from the crime branch conducted a raid in the Seetapuri locality on Tuesday, where the accused, Mohan Lal Garg, was found running an unauthorized LPG refilling operation from his shop, they said.
During the raid, the police recovered 17 domestic LPG cylinders from various companies, including Indane, Bharat Petroleum, and Hindustan Petroleum, a senior police officer said.
According to the police, Garg had been illegally storing domestic LPG cylinders and refilling them for sale in the open market at an inflated rate of Rs 200 per kilogram to make wrongful gains.
A food supply officer was called to the scene, and necessary action was initiated. The recovered cylinders were handed over to the local police station, and a case was registered, they said.
