The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for thunderstorm accompanied with hailstorm over Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab and West Rajasthan for today.
The Met department has predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over Bihar, Odisha, Telangana, Uttarakhand and West Madhya Pradesh today. Similar conditions will prevail over Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Kerala, Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Marathwada, South Interior Karnataka, Sub Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim today. IMD also predicted thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and gusty winds over the northeastern states for the next two to three days.
According to IMD, a rise in maximum temperatures by two to 4 degree Celsius is expected over Northwest India, except Uttar Pradesh, during the next 24 hours.
