Health and Family Welfare Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda stated today that timely diagnosis, quick referral, and access to quality treatment can save lives and prevent lifelong disability from stroke. He made this statement while virtually addressing the 3rd edition of FICCI's National Stroke Summit 2026. Mr. Nadda described stroke as a major health challenge that affects individuals, families, and communities, often without warning. He highlighted the government's efforts, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to build accessible, affordable, and technology-enabled healthcare systems, citing initiatives such as the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. The minister urged states and stakeholders to coordinate closely, expand specialist training, and leverage digital platforms to improve stroke management.
