
Islamabad, February 23 – Members of the opposition staged a protest outside Pakistan's Supreme Court on Monday, demanding that all cases against former Prime Minister Imran Khan be immediately scheduled for hearing and that his family be allowed to visit him in prison, local media reported.
Imran Khan, founder of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf, has been in prison since August 2023. He is serving a 14-year sentence at Adiala Jail in Rawalpindi in a corruption case involving £190 million and was recently convicted in another case related to state gifts. In recent days, Imran Khan's family and party have expressed concerns about his health, particularly since his eye ailment – right Central Retinal Vein Occlusion (CRVO) – came to light in January, Dawn reported.
