
Mumbai, March 21 – Filmmaker Imtiaz Ali found himself in a predicament when he left his bag at one of the shops at the Mumbai airport. Since he had already left the airport, he was unable to return. However, the Mumbai Police came to his rescue and helped retrieve his bag.
Expressing his gratitude towards the Mumbai Police for helping him recover his lost bag, the maker of "Jab We Met" posted on his official Instagram handle, saying:
"I left my bag at a shop inside and came out of the airport, and I was in a difficult situation! I couldn't get back in!! But @mumbaipolice were there to help. Mr. Nazim Pathan went out of his way for me. Thank you, sir! Go to India! (sic)"
Regarding his work, Imtiaz is currently awaiting the release of his upcoming romantic film, "Main Vaapas Aaunga," which stars Diljit Dosanjh, Vedang Raina, Sharvari, and Naseeruddin Shah, among others.
The recently released teaser of the film shows Diljit as the voice behind a beautiful pre-partition love story featuring Vedang and Sharvari.
However, their simple romance ultimately faces socio-political challenges.
Towards the end of the clip, Vedang is heard saying, "I will come back."
"Main Vaapas Aaunga" is expected to be released in cinemas on June 12.
In January, the makers announced the release date of the highly anticipated drama through a social media post.
They wrote, "Imtiaz Ali's next, a charming story of love and longing, will be released in cinemas on June 12, 2026. Produced by Applause Entertainment, A Window Seat Films Production. Produced by Applause Entertainment, Window Seat Films, and Mohit Choudhary, the film also marks the reunion of Imtiaz with the Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman and lyricist Irshad Kamil.
