
April 05, New Delhi: The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment has recorded its highest-ever expenditure of ₹11,810 crore in 2025–26, representing nearly a 14 per cent increase over the previous financial year.
The Ministry stated that this expenditure reflects the effective and timely use of funds for welfare schemes, demonstrating the Government's commitment to social justice, empowerment, and inclusive development.
Significant spending was recorded on welfare programs for Scheduled Castes (SC) and Other Backward Classes (OBC), as well as initiatives focused on drug demand reduction, the welfare of sanitation workers, senior citizens, transgender persons, and individuals engaged in begging.
