Mumbai, March 5 Sanju Samson smashed an 89-run innings off 42 balls as India reached 177 for three in 15 overs against England in the second semi-final of the T20 World Cup here on Thursday.

Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav were batting on 28 and 5 respectively.

Will Jacks took two wickets for England, dismissing Abhishek Sharma (9) and Samson, while Ishan Kishan got out for a brisk 39 off 18 balls.

Samson, who got a reprieve when captain Harry Brook dropped a catch at mid-on, made the most of it and smashed seven sixes and eight fours during his aggressive innings.

England won the toss and opted to bowl first.
