The Indian Naval Ship Trikand concluded its port call in Victoria, Seychelles, on the 20th of this month. The Ministry of Defence stated that this port call reflects India's vision of mutual and holistic advancement for security and growth across the region – MAHASAGAR – and reinforces the Indian Navy's commitment to remain the preferred security partner and first responder in the Indian Ocean Region.

It further added that the INS Trikand participated in the first tri-services edition of Exercise Lamitiye 2026, along with members from the Indian Army and Indian Air Force and the Seychelles Defence Forces. This marks the Indian Navy's maiden participation in the 11th edition of Exercise Lamitiye. The Ministry also stated that the exercise provided an opportunity to enhance interoperability and strengthen maritime cooperation between India and Seychelles.
