April 11, New Delhi — Union Minister for Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Manohar Lal Khattar, met Bhutan's Minister of Infrastructure & Transport, Lyonpo Chandra Bahadur Gurung, on Saturday.

During the meeting, both leaders discussed exploring opportunities to strengthen India-Bhutan cooperation in the infrastructure sector.

The minister stated that Bhutan's Gross National Happiness framework offers a powerful model, emphasizing holistic well-being alongside economic progress.

Earlier in the day, the minister also offered prayers at Bhutan's historic Simtokha Dzong.

In a post on X, he said, "The historical Simtokha Dzong holds a special place in Bhutan's cultural and spiritual landscape. As one of the oldest dzongs in the country, it stands as a testament to Bhutan's rich architectural heritage and enduring Buddhist traditions."
