
April 9, New Delhi: India bounced back with a dominant 3-0 victory over New Zealand in the Billie Jean King Cup Asia/Oceania Group I, keeping their chances of finishing in the top two and qualifying for the playoffs alive, despite interruptions due to rain.
Following their defeat in the opening match against Thailand, India staged a strong comeback at the DLTA Complex. Young players Vaishnavi Adkar and Sahaja Yamalapalli won their individual matches, giving India an early 2-0 lead.
In the doubles match, Ankita Raina and Rutuja Bhosale secured the victory with a straight-set win over Erin Routliffe and Monique Barry.
