Government Sends Stern Warning Amid Escalating Conflict with Pakistan

New Delhi, May 10 — The Indian government has declared that any future terrorist attack on its soil will be deemed an "act of war" and will invite a commensurate response, top government sources confirmed on Saturday.

This decisive shift in policy underscores the Narendra Modi-led administration's intent to establish firm red lines in dealing with terrorism. The move is widely interpreted as a direct signal to Pakistan, which has long been associated with harboring and supporting terror outfits that have targeted Indian civilians and security forces.

The announcement comes at a critical juncture, following the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on April 22, which resulted in the deaths of 26 civilians, most of them tourists. The attack has significantly heightened tensions between India and Pakistan, with both sides engaging in military actions in the days since.

By designating future acts of terror as acts of war, the Indian government aims to convey a no-tolerance stance toward cross-border terrorism and signal its readiness to act decisively against perpetrators and their supporters.

This policy marks a strategic and diplomatic escalation, aiming to deter further hostile activities and protect national sovereignty.
