March 7, New Delhi – In an exclusive interview with DD, Shyama Mishra spoke with Finland's Minister of Employment, Matias Marttinen, during President Alexander Stubb's visit to Mumbai.

Regarding discussions with India, Minister Marttinen stated that Finland has "excellent discussions" with its Indian counterparts and highlighted the strong presence of the Indian community in Finland, particularly in high-level positions within the deep tech sector.

He expressed appreciation for their contribution to the Finnish industry and stated that while India cannot directly copy Finland's systems, there are opportunities for teacher training and increased exchange between research institutions and universities.

Regarding bilateral relations, the Minister described the current period as "crucial to build stronger partnerships globally," noting that the collaboration between India and Finland is long-standing and that both governments now aim to strengthen it into a more strategic partnership.

He emphasized that this engagement opens up greater opportunities for both countries in industry, innovation, and economic cooperation.
