
February 18, New Delhi – United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres arrived in New Delhi to attend the AI Impact Summit. He is expected to participate in key sessions and engage with world leaders on promoting the responsible and inclusive use of AI technologies.
Notably, the UN believes in using AI for inclusivity. Its website states that AI includes a diverse range of technologies that can be defined as 'self-learning, adaptive systems.'
The India AI Impact Summit commenced on February 16 at Bharat Mandapam, marking the first time a global convening of this scale on artificial intelligence is being organized in the Global South.
The Summit brings together Heads of State and Government, ministers, global technology leaders, prominent researchers, multilateral institutions, and industry stakeholders to discuss the role of AI in advancing inclusive growth, strengthening public systems, and enabling sustainable development.
