India Industry Water Conclave Highlights Water Conservation Efforts.webp

Union Minister for Jal Shakti C.R. Patil praised the Union Cabinet's approval of an additional ₹1.51 lakh crore for the completion of the Jal Jeevan Mission and urged the industry to adopt measures to ensure water conservation and storage.

He made this statement while addressing the 11th edition of the India Industry Water Conclave and the 13th FICCI Water Awards in New Delhi. The Jal Shakti Minister also highlighted that the government is planning to divert surplus water from the Indus river system to Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan to ensure water availability.

The Minister also conferred FICCI Water Awards in four categories, including Biome Environment Trust for Water Initiatives by NGO, Earth Fokus Earthwise Private Limited for Innovation in Water Technology, and others. The Water Awards are an annual recognition initiative launched by the FICCI Water Mission to recognize excellence in water conservation and sustainable water management practices.
