February 26, Israel – Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog today and planted a tree in the Grove of the Righteous Among the Nations, symbolizing hope, remembrance, and enduring India-Israel friendship against hatred.
PM Modi reaffirmed his commitment to the environment by planting the tree alongside President Herzog at Yad Vashem, the Holocaust museum. He also signed the visitors' book at the memorial.
Earlier, Prime Minister Modi visited Yad Vashem, Israel's official Holocaust memorial, accompanied by Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Yad Vashem Chairman Dani Dayan. The leaders toured the Book of Names, documenting 4.8 million Jewish victims, and participated in a memorial ceremony at the Hall of Remembrance.
