February 25, Jerusalem, Israel — The Israeli Parliament awarded Prime Minister Narendra Modi the Knesset Speaker Medal on Wednesday, following his address in the Knesset.
This marks the first time the medal has been awarded, making him the inaugural recipient of the highest honour from the Knesset.
The medal was awarded in recognition of Prime Minister Modi's exceptional contribution through his personal leadership in strengthening strategic relations between India and Israel.
Prime Minister Modi is now recognized as a rare world leader who has received top honours from both Israel and Palestine. In 2018, he was awarded the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine, the highest Palestinian honour for foreign leaders.
