Japan's State Minister visits Assam, Highlights Semiconductor Cooperation

Japan's State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Iwao Horii, arrived in Assam on an official visit. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma stated that the visit, which took place shortly after the formation of the new Japanese government, reflects Assam's increasing importance within the broader India-Japan strategic partnership.

Mr. Horii expressed interest from Japanese companies in developing a robust semiconductor ecosystem around the Tata Group's semiconductor project in Jagiroad. He also discussed creating new opportunities to train Assam's youth in advanced technologies and Japanese language skills.
