Today marks the observance of World Social Justice Day. This day is dedicated to addressing critical global issues such as poverty, discrimination, gender inequality, and unemployment. The United Nations designated this day in 2007 to promote the values of fairness, human rights, and social protection for all.
The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, in collaboration with the National Law University, will organize a special program to observe this day. Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, B. L. Verma, will lead the reading of the Preamble to the Constitution. The Ministry stated that this collective reading will reaffirm the nation's commitment to the ideals of Justice, including social, economic, and political, as well as liberty, equality, and fraternity, as enshrined in the Constitution.
