April 08, New Delhi: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired the third meeting of the Informal Empowered Group of Ministers on Wednesday, which was established to closely monitor the evolving situation in West Asia.
The high-level meeting reviewed measures to ensure the uninterrupted availability of essential commodities and to protect Indian citizens amid rising regional tensions.
The minister also assessed the preparedness to respond to the rapidly changing situation in the region.
Earlier, during the second meeting held on April 3, the Group had emphasized the need for round-the-clock monitoring as the West Asia conflict continued to unfold.
