
March 12, New Delhi – India put on a dominant performance to defeat Wales in the World Cup qualifiers, securing a spot in the semifinals and the 2026 FIH Women’s World Cup.
The Indian team won 4-1 against Wales, with Navneet Kaur scoring a hat-trick and Sakshi Rana scoring a single goal. This victory ensured that India topped Pool B and secured a semifinal clash against Italy on Thursday. Salima Tete's team has also secured their spot at the World Cup later this year in Belgium and the Netherlands.
