
New Delhi, March 24 – Anushka Sharma received her first call-up for the five-match T20I series against South Africa, which begins on April 17, in the away series.
The series will be held in Durban, Johannesburg, and Benoni.
Sharma was signed by Gujarat Giants for ₹45 lakh ahead of the 2026 WPL, where she made an immediate impact with her batting. The 22-year-old was part of the India A squad that participated in the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Bangkok last month.
From the squad that won 2-1 against Australia, Sneha Rana, Amanjot Kaur, G Kamalini, and Vaishnavi Sharma are not included in the lineup for the South Africa series.
Pacer Kashvee Gautam, who has played Test and ODI matches for India, has been included in the T20 squad led by Harmanpreet Kaur.
The series is part of India's preparations for the T20 World Cup in the UK in June-July.
