Indian Air Force helicopters are fighting wildfires on two fronts, conducting continuous aerial firefighting missions in challenging terrain. The Air Force stated that a total of 139,800 litres of water has been dropped, successfully extinguishing the fire at Walong, Arunachal Pradesh. Furthermore, operations are also ongoing in the Dzukou Valley in Nagaland, with Mi-17 V5 helicopters drawing water from Padumpokhiri Lake in Dimapur to combat fires near Japfu Peak, amidst steep slopes, poor visibility, and thin air.
