The Indian Army will conduct recruitment rallies starting March 12 to enroll 800 porters for its newly established Porter Company in the border districts of Rajouri and Poonch, officials said.

According to officials, a recruitment rally will be organized to enroll 600 porters and 200 reserve porters for the Army Porter Company. The recruitment process will take place at seven locations across the two districts.

According to an official advertisement, the 279 Porter Company is being raised under the Ministry of Defence for a period of 179 days, from April 1 to September 26 this year.

The recruitment rallies will be held at brigade headquarters in Poonch and Rajouri from March 12 to 13. Similar drives will be organized at Balnoi and Naushera from March 14 to 15, at Bhimber Gali from March 16 to 17, and at Mendhar and Manjakote from March 18 to 19.

To be eligible, applicants must be Indian citizens, medically fit, and between 18 and 40 years of age.

Candidates have been asked to bring original documents along with five duly attested photocopies of their Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID Card, or Driving Licence.

They are also required to produce a character certificate issued by the concerned village sarpanch, a medical fitness certificate from an authorized medical attendant in original, and a police verification certificate.

Authorities have advised all eligible candidates to report at the respective brigade headquarters on the scheduled dates to participate in the recruitment process.
